Preparing For Your Appointment

Before your appointment, take a moment to write down any questions you might have.
Also, here are a few things to consider:

  • What is your lifestyle like?
  • What are your goals? Keep in mind these may change over time.
  • What kind of activities have you done in the past, what are you working towards in the future?
  • In what type of environments will you be using your prosthesis?
  • What do you want your prosthesis to look like?
  • If you have previous experience with a prosthesis, what has worked well, what could use improvement

Don’t forget to bring:

  • A prescription for a new prosthesis (not necessary for consultations or repairs but required by most paying agencies for new devices)
  • A pair of shorts and Shoes (if you are interested in a lower extremity prosthesis)
  • Your current prosthesis, if you have one
