Preparing For Your Appointment
Preparing For Your Appointment
Before your appointment, take a moment to write down any questions you might have.
Also, here are a few things to consider:
- What is your lifestyle like?
- What are your goals? Keep in mind these may change over time.
- What kind of activities have you done in the past, what are you working towards in the future?
- In what type of environments will you be using your prosthesis?
- What do you want your prosthesis to look like?
- If you have previous experience with a prosthesis, what has worked well, what could use improvement
Don’t forget to bring:
- A prescription for a new prosthesis (not necessary for consultations or repairs but required by most paying agencies for new devices)
- A pair of shorts and Shoes (if you are interested in a lower extremity prosthesis)
- Your current prosthesis, if you have one
